Competence Center on Automation

The objective of the Competence Center on Automation was sustainable knowledge transfer in automation technology and to train young people on the vocational and academic level in skills required for industrial automation and development. CCoA aimed at the creation of new jobs and the improvement of employment-opportunities in Moroccan industries through advanced automation and digitization technologies. Through project activities, more than 1.000 people were trained in automation technology and over 270 people found employment. The focus areas were the automotive sector, agriculture and food-processing. The establishment of the CCoA was supported by the Special Initiative on Training and Employment of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), and implemented, among others, by the Gesellschaft für internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH and in cooperation with the Moroccan Ministry of Industry and Trade.
