I cannot upload my application online, what can I do?
Should there be any technical issues, you are also welcome to send us your documents (in a PDF file) to bewerbung@steinbeis-sibe.de send.
Should I apply on my own initiative or for a specific position?
As you wish! If a particular position appeals to you, feel free to apply for it directly. If you are still undecided or find multiple positions exciting, you are welcome to submit a speculative application. The selection process remains the same.
If I want to apply for several positions, should I apply multiple times via the online application form?
No, please apply only once (for a specific position or unsolicited). As soon as you have successfully completed our selection process, you will have access to all currently open vacancies and can let us know which other partner companies you are interested in.
Do I have to write a cover letter?
No, we do not require a cover letter. If you would still like to write one, feel free to express your motivation for our Master's program in it or describe to us why a specific position or department is a particularly good fit for you.
Do I have to apply to SIBE and the companies?
In principle, your application always goes first to SIBE, where you go through the selection process. If you successfully complete this, we will send your documents to the partner companies you are interested in. For some of our partner companies, please also apply directly to the company. However, this is noted accordingly in the respective job posting.
Until when does the application deadline run?
You can apply to us at any time, as it is possible to begin your studies on the 1st and 15th of every month. Our courses therefore also start several times a year – independently of the summer and winter semesters that are customary at other universities.
Is position XY still vacant?
All positions that you can find advertised on our job board are not yet filled. You can find the current vacancies of our partner companies here: https://new.steinbeis-sibe.de/stellen
When are the advertised positions to be filled?
Our partner companies generally look for a student to start immediately. However, we continually receive comparable new positions, and some of our partner companies also secure candidates well in advance. Therefore, feel free to apply now, even if you are only available at a later date.
Why does SIBE need my higher education entrance qualification, I already have a bachelor's degree?
Due to statutory admission regulations, we are required to verify your higher education entrance qualification.
I have a bachelor's degree in a non-business field, can I still apply?
Of course, I'd be happy to! Our degree programs are for graduates of all disciplines. For example, our students hold degrees in engineering, the humanities, or the social sciences. In our master's program, all students are brought up to speed on economic concepts and methods, so prior knowledge is not strictly necessary.
I won't graduate with my bachelor's degree for another … months. Does it still make sense to apply now?
Yes! Many of our partner companies prefer to wait for the right candidate rather than fill a position quickly. Time and again, our partner companies secure their desired candidates many months before the start date at the company. An optimal time to apply is approx. 6 months before your desired start of studies – this gives you enough time to find a suitable partner company. Please send us a current transcript of grades along with your application.
I have already received an offer from a company. Do I still need to go through the SIBE application process?
Yes, regardless of the company's commitment, you also need an acceptance from SIBE. Please apply here: https://new.steinbeis-sibe.de/stellen
What happens if the position is already filled by the time I pass the selection process?
Should a position already be filled by the time you have gone through the selection process, your application for this position can unfortunately no longer be considered. However, we have a very large number of job postings and new ones are added daily. As soon as you are accepted into our talent pool, we can forward your documents directly to new positions at our partner companies and actively support you in your search for a partner company.
Are the advertised positions also open to applicants without a Master's degree?
All vacancies on our homepage under https://new.steinbeis-sibe.de/stellen/are to be filled exclusively within the framework of the master's programs.
Is there a numerus clausus (N.C.)?
No. In addition to the academic achievements provided so far, as part of the selection process we also pay special attention to your practical experience, your skills, and the personal impression we gain of you during the selection process.
Which application documents should I submit?
• Current and signed resume in English
• Bachelor's degree certificate and diploma or current transcript of records
Employment references and/or internship certificates
• Higher education entrance qualification (e.g., Abitur certificate)
• Proof of English language proficiency (at least B2 level, not older than 3 years). If no proof is available yet, we can recommend, for example, this free English test including certificate: Free standardized English test according to the CEFR | EF SET
Optional:
• further references and certificates
• Letters of recommendation, confirmations of voluntary work
When should I apply?
Applications are possible at any time. Most positions at the partner companies are available immediately. The optimal time to apply is approximately 6 months before your desired start of studies – this gives you enough time to find a suitable partner company.

Studies
What is meant by a live seminar?
Seminars offered by SIBE usually take place live – in real time – either online via Microsoft Teams or in person, enabling direct interaction with the lecturer and fellow students. SIBE seminars are full-day and typically last between 1 to 4 days. We generally schedule block seminars toward the end of the week, always including a Saturday in addition to weekdays. In exceptional cases, seminar dates may also take place entirely during the week due to limited availability of lecturers and/or seminar rooms. SIBE seminars are supplemented by learning units on the learning platform, the E-Campus. The American MBA is delivered exclusively via the Post University learning platform.
When does the degree program start?
We have multiple starts per year. You are therefore not bound to summer and winter semesters! You can therefore also start your studies with your start date at the partner company.
Are there elective options in the SIBE study programs?
In the SIBE Management Master – M.Sc. in International Management as well as in the German-US Dual Degree (M.Sc./MBA), you choose one of two elective subjects, thereby deciding whether you want to gain further insights into innovation or change management. To provide some preliminary structure for your career-integrated studies, at the start of your studies in all M.Sc. programs you will receive information regarding certain fixed seminar dates (live online) and submission deadlines for academic performance records. For all other relevant seminars in the respective curriculum, you have the opportunity—in consultation with your partner company—to register for alternative dates either in person or live online via the „mySIBE“ student portal during the first four months. This means you select suitable seminar dates, as well as the corresponding format (online or in person), based on availability.
Will I receive an enrollment certificate from the university?
Yes, you will receive a certificate of enrollment and a student ID at the beginning of your studies. You can use these to get discounts, among other things.
When will I receive the study schedule, meaning the exact dates for when I have seminars at the university?
Upon commencement of your employment, you will receive further information regarding the first scheduled fixed seminar dates, including deadlines for submitting performance records. For all other relevant seminars of the respective curriculum, you have the opportunity, in consultation with your partner company, to register for alternative in-person or live-online dates via the „mySIBE“ student portal during the first four months. This means you can select suitable seminar dates, as well as the corresponding format (live-online or in-person), depending on availability.
Can I apply for the compensation of disadvantages?
Yes, the right to reasonable accommodation for people with disabilities is anchored in law in many ways.
According to the Berlin Higher Education Act, the purpose of an accommodation is to grant people with disabilities equal opportunities to complete their studies (§ 4 (7) and § 31 (3) BerlHG).
SIBE is happy to advise and assist in finding a solution.
Groups of people with the following disabilities are eligible to apply for compensation for disadvantages:
– during pregnancy, on maternity leave, or on parental leave
– with relatives in need of care
– Mobility impairments
– Visual, hearing or speech impairments
- with mental illnesses (e.g., eating disorders, depression)
- with chronic illnesses (e.g., rheumatism, Crohn's disease or diabetes, epilepsy, multiple sclerosis, allergies)
– Dyslexia and other specific learning disabilities
– Autism and AD(H)D
However, the question of form and scope cannot be answered definitively, but is subject to a case-by-case assessment.
To be able to offer you support in your studies as early as possible, early submission of the application to the examination board is requested (prüfungsausschuss@steinbeis-sibe.de) bitten.
The following information should be included in the application:
– Information regarding the impairment
– the resulting restriction regarding your studies
– Special Application form
How does the degree program generally work?
At the center of the study format is the realization of your own project. By studying based on a real project, practice and theory are directly interconnected in both content and schedule: on the one hand, the studies continuously incorporate the development of your corporate project, and on the other hand, the recurring SIBE block seminars can be easily integrated into your daily work routine. As a rule, block seminars always take place toward the end of the week and generally last until Saturday. In exceptional cases, seminar dates may also take place entirely during the week due to limited availability of instructors and/or seminar rooms. In the German-US Dual Degree (M.Sc./MBA), you also complete 10 courses of 8 weeks each via Post University's learning platform (Blackboard). You can view a sample study plan in the download section of the respective master's program: https://www.steinbeis-sibe.de/school/programme/
How many days per month am I at the seminar?
This depends heavily on which degree program you are taking and which seminar dates you book. SIBE seminar blocks regularly range from 1 to 4 days. You can view a sample study plan in the download section of the respective master's program: https://new.steinbeis-sibe.de/programme/
Can I have credits that I earned at another university recognized for the SIBE Master's program and thereby shorten the duration of my studies?
Of course this is generally possible. However, the question regarding the scope cannot be answered in a general way, but is subject to a case-by-case examination.
What types of academic assessments are there?
Since professional skills are more important than passing knowledge tests in the workplace, we have aligned the entire study program toward your competence development. Therefore, during your studies, you will primarily complete problems and tasks from your projects in the form of presentations and project-related assignments (such as transfer or project studies up to the master's thesis).
What is the proportion of English in the degree program? In which language are the graded assessments completed?
The seminars for 100% are held in English. For the course assessments, students may choose from several options in some cases. You can find details in the following Overview.
Is a stay abroad possible or firmly integrated into the degree program?
You have the opportunity to enhance your studies with an optional one-week study abroad program. This exclusive additional offer can be booked individually and provides you with valuable additional insights into selected foreign markets—featuring company visits, professional exchange with representatives from business and academia, as well as cultural activities. Cost arrangements are handled individually: Many partner companies support participation, and the specific coordination takes place directly between the students and the companies. In addition to potential support from the company, independent financing is also an option.
Does the degree program take place online or in person?
In our M.Sc. degree programs, we offer you the greatest possible flexibility while ensuring the same general conditions for all students. Therefore, the seminars in our M.Sc. programs consist of a combination of live online seminars and seminars where you can choose the respective format yourself (on-site or live online), in consultation with your partner company and depending on your time availability. The degree program can thus be completed entirely online.
